Paradox Entertainment signs LEGION
2002-02-01
Swedish developer Paradox Entertainment has signed the upcoming title Legion for all markets, worldwide from British studio Slitherine Software. The game will be released this summer worldwide.
Legion is a revolutionary
strategy game based in ancient Roman times. At the strategic level the player
controls vast armies and must carve an Empire from the assortment of tribes and
city states that occupied ancient Italy and France. At the tactical level the
player must position their armies to take advantage of terrain and make use of
the best formations, to ensure victory.
- We have followed this project from its start and are happy to now fully commit
to its completion. The gameplay is astonishing and we will upgrade some
technical aspects which further enhances the quality of the game. This deal will
strenghten our product portfolio and confirm our position as a leading provider
of strategy games, says Fredrik Malmberg of Paradox Entertainment.
- After the great success of Europa Universalis 1 and 2 and their deep knowledge of the strategy games market we are very glad to collaborate with Paradox, says Iain McNeil of Slitherine Software.
Legion will be released this summer and plans include localized versions in all major markets.
