EA GAMES Ships SimCoaster PC Owners Can Build, Ride and Run Pulse-Pounding Roller Coasters in the Park of Their Dreams

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Thursday, February 1 - Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), the world's largest interactive entertainment software company, today announced the release of SimCoasterä, the ultimate sequel to the popular EA GAMES(tm) PC title Sim Theme Park. In SimCoaster(tm) players build, ride, and run the most gut-wrenching, face-twisting, pulse-pounding roller coasters of all time in the theme park of their dreams. Players create their dream parks with 100 rides, roller coasters, sideshows, and shops in three new and distinct themes: Arabian Nights, Land of Invention, and Polar Zone.

"SimCoaster is a return to our roots. Although we have stayed in the same visual style of our previous efforts, we have added much more depth to the game via challenges, objectives and a simple-to-master coaster design kit," said Stuart Whyte, the game's producer. "All this adds up to the ultimate theme park experience."

As players build their dream theme park, they will research new rides, hire a staff and avoid bankruptcy. New features include an easy-to-use roller coaster design kit and a brand new storyline that challenges players to progress through fifteen challenging levels of play. Like Sim Theme Park, SimCoaster presents the parks in stunning 3D, supporting Direct3D®ä hardware acceleration as well as non-accelerated PCs. The 3D engine has been vastly improved and now allows players to view a far greater area of their park.

SimCoaster carries an ESRB rating of "E" for everyone.
