KNOWLEDGE ADVENTURE TO DEVELOP AND PUBLISH INTERACTIVE KIDS PRODUCTS BASED ON MATTEL'S GIRLS, INFANT AND PRESCHOOL BRANDS
Global licensing agreement between Knowledge Adventure, a subsidiary of Vivendi Universal Publishing, and Mattel awards premier children's software publisher rights to top-selling Barbie doll and Fisher-Price brands
TORRANCE, CA, January 31, 2001 - Leading children's software publisher Knowledge Adventure today announced its intent to develop and distribute interactive products, based on current and future properties, within Mattel Inc.'s (NYSE:MAT) girls and infant and preschool brands. The worldwide, multi-year licensing agreement between Knowledge Adventure and Mattel awards Knowledge Adventure the exclusive rights to produce software titles featuring Barbie, Diva Starz, Generation Girl, Kelly and American Girl, as well as Fisher-Price, Little People, View-Master, Rescue Heroes and Power Wheels. Knowledge Adventure will begin publishing the interactive products in 2001. The products will be distributed by Vivendi Universal Interactive Publishing North America in the US and Vivendi Universal Interactive Publishing International in the rest of the world.
