INTERPLAY ANNOUNCES OFF-ROAD REDNECK RACING™ FOR THE PC (OFFICIALLY ENDORSED BY LEONARD & BUBBA!!)

IRVINE, California, JANUARY 25, 2001 - 14* East, a division of Interplay Entertainment Corp. (NASDAQ: IPLY), is pleased announce the development of Off-Road Redneck Racing™ for the PC. The latest addition to Interplay’s popular millions-selling Redneck franchise, Off-Road Redneck Racing is designed as a high quality off-road racing game, with a special mix of Redneck color added for a dose of good ol’ southern charm. Constructed with a wealth of racing options, vehicles, and racetracks available, this is a game that any hardcore racing fan will be proud to own and that no Redneck fan can afford to miss. Wild settings, vicious opponent AI, and the ability to bump and crash into other racers puts you right in the drivers seat for some intense off-road action…so hold on to ‘yer pork rhines, cause its time for Redneck Racing!

Redneck Racing is a handful of Southern Pride, giving gamers the chance for some good clean fun in the mud. Players will drive the hottest off-road vehicles on the market today against unscrupulous racers around the wildest tracks ever made using a seriously powerful simulation engine, providing dynamic racing and physics. Players can choose from a collection of 16 different types of off-road vehicles including Jeeps, pick-up trucks, off-road beetles, and other Dixie staples, and race around 24 different tracks in six unique locales. Players will race in arcade challenges, attempt to beat the clock in time trials, or race professionally in Championship mode. LAN support also allows you to race fender-to-fender against up to six other good ol’ boys!

Other aspects of the game include: destructible track objects ranging from oil drums and advertising banners to the infamous “crate-o-chickens”. Weather conditions - from rain and thunderstorms to snowstorms and ice patches - offer many different types of challenge, changing pleasant racing courses into mud-slicked nightmares! Different lighting conditions range from broad sunlight to hazy sunset, and pitch black - where course changes are revealed only in your headlights glare! Race well and receive the ability to upgrade your vehicle with better acceleration and handling, allowing you to race in the big league where professional teams might just show an interest in your skills.
