EA NAMES MIGUEL TEJADA AND RANDY JOHNSON COVER ATHLETES OF MVP BASEBALL 2003

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., January 15, 2003 - MVP!  MVP!  MVP!  EA (NASDAQ:  ERTS) today announced American League Most Valuable Player (MVP) Miguel Tejada and National League Cy Young winner Randy Johnson as the North American spokesmen and cover athletes of the upcoming MVP Baseball TM 2003 interactive video game from EA SPORTS.

"I'm very honored to be a part of EA's new baseball franchise," said MVP Miguel Tejada.  "It's a thrill for me to join the other great athletes who have represented the EA SPORTS games."

Recently earning the coveted American League MVP award, Oakland Athletics shortstop Miguel Tejada batted his way to a career high season in 2002 with a .308 batting average, 204 hits, 131 RBIs and 34 home runs.  Tejada's clutch hitting and late game heroics led the Athletics into the playoffs for the third straight season.  The MVP honor solidifies Tejada as one of the most dangerous all-around players in the game today.

Joining Miguel Tejada as spokesperson and cover athlete of MVP Baseball 2003 is Arizona Diamondbacks ace pitcher Randy Johnson.  Earning his fourth consecutive Cy Young award, Johnson dominated batters in 2002 with a league leading 24-5 record, 2.32 ERA and 334 strikeouts.  Regarded as the best left handed pitcher in baseball, Randy Johnson continues his legendary career in 2003 as he guns for a sixth Cy Young award, which will leave him tied as the leader on the all-time list.

"A key feature of MVP Baseball 2003 is our revolutionary new pitcher/batter interface that will give players the opportunity to be more strategic with their pitching and batting," said EA Executive Producer Rory Armes.  "We couldn't think of two better players to represent the direction we're headed with MVP Baseball."

MVP Baseball 2003 is an all-new reengineered baseball franchise from EA SPORTS that will also introduce an all-new "picture-in-picture" on-base view, creating an added dimension and strategy to base running.  Realistic stadiums and highly detailed player models and animations bring the baseball action to life like never before.  Adding to the depth of the game, MVP Baseball 2003 will include a robust franchise mode that incorporates rookie drafts, player development, career ending injuries, contracts and hirings/firings. MVP Baseball 2003 is scheduled for release in March 2003 on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft.  A PC version will be released in summer 2003.
