PRIMA GAMES BRINGS LIGHT TO "DARK AGE OF CAMELOT: TRIALS OF ATLANTIS" EXPANSION WITH OFFICIAL GUIDE

Market leader worked closely with Mythic Entertainment to publish "Dark Age of Camelot: Trials of Atlantis--Prima's Official Strategy Guide"

ROSEVILLE, Calif., January 14, 2004 -- "Dark Age of Camelot: Trials of Atlantis--Prima's Official Strategy Guide" has hit store shelves, riding the success of previous Prima Games releases for earlier "Dark Age of Camelot" games and expansions from Mythic Entertainment. "Trials of Atlantis" adds underwater areas to explore and a new player race per realm -- both covered explicitly in the official Prima Guide.

The December release tops 304 pages, and helps gamers traverse the expansive terrain of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game. The guide also covers the all-new Master Levels, a new advancement system that teaches your character new abilities, spells, and combat styles, and a boat system that enables the player to travel the oceans of the Atlantis zones.

"The team at Mythic was instrumental in helping us make this strategy guide a must-have for every 'Dark Age of Camelot' player. With their guidance, Prima was able to create a true companion strategy guide with the look and feel of the game itself," said Debra Kempker, President of Prima Games.

"'Trials of Atlantis' is a challenging expansion, and we're pleased to offer 'Dark Age of Camelot' fans this Prima guide," said Mark Jacobs, president and CEO of Mythic Entertainment. "Prima has produced a thorough guide that will help players tackle the 'Trials of Atlantis.'"

Strategy guides provide helpful hints and tips to gamers. Prima Games' guides range from U.S. MSRP $14.99 to $19.99.

About "Dark Age of Camelot: Trials of Atlantis"

"Trials of Atlantis," the expansion to "Dark Age of Camelot," opens a whole new world in the critically-acclaimed massively-multiplayer online role-playing game. With "Trials of Atlantis," players can discover and rediscover a secret civilization spread across multiple islands, submerged deep in the ocean, and across a continent. Foreseeing the demise of their society, the ancient people of Atlantis, possessors of extremely powerful magical lore, built a series of trials into the ruins of their once great culture. Players can now take on the nine trials and unlock new mysterious powers while mastering the perilous ocean and confronting terrifying monsters.

"Trials of Atlantis" is designed to further challenge high-level players by introducing a Master Level advancement system. As a player moves sequentially through each of the nine trials, they will achieve a corresponding Master Level. With each Master Level, players gain new Atlantean Master Abilities, each with its own unique capabilities and skills. Emphasizing group play, the trials will have to be tackled by groups of players. Players are able to travel by boat, explore islands within the ruins, swim to submerged dungeons, and battle new creatures in underwater caves. Additionally, "Trials of Atlantis" features three new races, dozens of original monsters, as well as quests to discover and treasures to reclaim.

"Trials of Atlantis" brings many graphical upgrades to "Dark Age of Camelot." It utilizes NDL's state-of-the-art Gamebryo graphic engine and is now DirectX 9 compatible, giving it access to the latest graphical spell, world, and underwater effects. Many of these graphical upgrades extend to the game's original lands as well as the new Atlantis continent. High-definition terrain textures and new extremely high-definition trees now render Camelot landscapes in realistic detail, even in the game's older areas. Additional graphics upgrades in "Trials of Atlantis" include a new user-skinable interface, new high-polygon monster models, and many new spell and lighting effects.
