UNREAL! TWIN GALAXIES TOURNAMENT LEAGUE UNIFIES ON-LINE COMMUNITY
"Twin Galaxies Unreal Tournament League forms, to crown champions and award $25,000 to the best players in one of the world's largest game communities."
Dallas, TX - January 10th, 2001 - Battle lines are drawn world wide, as Twin Galaxies brings the best on the web together, to vie for the prize. Twin Galaxies, the worldwide authority on player rankings, gaming statistics and championship tournaments, has announced the formation of a brand new invitational league, designed to create an organization that will cater to the Internet's community of Unreal Tournament (UT) players. Ready to award the largest cash prize ever for a UT competition, the Twin Galaxies Unreal Tournament League (TGUTL), will serve the need of the UT community, by offering a competitive league where athletes can be recognized for their skill and accomplishments, in 1v1, TDM and CTF play. The first competitive Unreal Tournament league established in the gaming world will culminate their inaugural season with a live, final tournament event that will determine the champion of the TGUTL. Twin Galaxies, founder and governing body of the league, has served the entire gaming community since 1981, and also offers competition in other top on-line games through the Twin Galaxies Electronic Gamers League (TGEGL).
"The TGUTL will firmly establish the TGEGL as a top gaming league in North America. Currently, there is a big push in the UT community, to have UT recognized in a professional league setting, as a top tournament game. With the inception of the TGUTL, UT players will have a competitive field of play and become recognized for their achievements", TGEGL Commissioner Jeff Gross stated, after Twin Galaxies decided to create the league. After discussing the TGUTL with champion UT players, Gross quoted, "the top UT players feel that the TGUTL will clearly establish UT as a tournament game, and Twin Galaxies as the main competitive outlet for Unreal Tournament."
Twin Galaxies has been recognizing the achievements of gaming athletes, for twenty years. The TGUTL will further the acclaim of competitive gamers throughout the world, and offer the world's first outlet for UT players to achieve their glory.
