Eurofighter Typhoon Review

Early in the 21st Century, (2015 to be precise) Europe is falling country by country to commie dictatorship.  Your base in Iceland is the key to reinforcements and it must be held at all costs.  It’s up to the Typhoon squadron to up hold democracy as we know it!

Jet jockeys get ready for one of the best jet Sims of the year, if not of all time.  This new aircraft not is only designed for air-to-air combat, but ground unit destruction as well.  You must choose 6 of the best fighter pilots for the possible 100 plus missions you will face in the campaign to free the Europe from vicious dictators spreading chaos over the world.  You may be outnumbered but never the less you are superbly equipped to destroy enemy tanks, SAM installations, sink supply ships, and out maneuver supersonic jets. Choose your pilots wisely; they must have strong survival skills because if they are shot down, they need to escape enemy capture to reach the end of the campaign.  If you loose all 6 of your chosen pilots…. you wont make it through the end of the campaign.   (Hint… save your games!!!)

The game in my opinion is designed beautifully.  Easy to read multi-function displays with real life elements including wingmen and an arsenal of whoop ass at your disposal.  The flight model is truly realistic.  If you take fire, be prepared to limp back to your base.  You will find the plane much more difficult to fly if you take damage.  The aircraft is very easy to fly compared to some flight Sims, but not because the designers left out complexities.  Quite honestly this is the future, and with the future comes simplicity.  This was designed with help from pilots that have actually trained in the real life Eurofighter flight simulator.

You will encounter many allied and enemy aircraft and have the ability to use up to 10 different weapons that ET is designed to carry.  To get all the juicy stats I urge you to check out http://www.eurofighter-typhoon.net/

If you are looking for difficult instant action, you can play multiplayer games or even play them solo for a fantastic slugfest!

I would encourage flight simulator enthusiast to add this piece of software to your library.  This is one of the best of the year if not of all time.  Good Luck!

Installation:
Easy – but slower processors will take some time.

Gameplay: 9
Interesting storyline accompanied by newscast that are just like watching CNN.   There are some slow times in play between missions, but there is a lot you can view to keep the action up, including watching some of your other pilots’ missions from many different camera angles.

Graphics: 9
The 3Dream engine is beautiful.  The best thing is you don’t need a state of the art PC to run it either!

Sound: 9
Great sound effects and music make a nice compliment to the game.

Difficulty: 8
I would give the basics about half hour to an hour learning curve.  I would strongly advise to read the manual to get a good grasp of what is involved.

Concept: 9
Nice to see a game that gets into future technology.

Multiplayer:
Exists, but was not experienced at time of review.

Overall: 9.0
Some slow play and you can only speed lull times by two, but all in all a great game!
