Mia's Math Adventure - Just In Time Review

A learning game kids will love!

Mia is a cute little mouse that is in search of parts throughout her house and garden to assemble a time machine to save her home from fire. Along the way she encounters challenging game and puzzle activities. As a homeschooling family, we have played many different learning games but none that my eight year old has enjoyed more.

There are four levels of difficulty to choose from and what is impressive is the wide age range available from one game, from 6 - 10. This game could be adjusted for years of use unlike some games that are just for specific ages or grades.

Keyboard Commands:-

The arrow keys allow Mia to use a skateboard.

F-1: To view the items in Mia's backpack, to see what is still needed.

F-2 : The option screen for setting the sound volume, background music, load and save games, start games and play instructions.

F-12: Allows you to finish an activity that is to challenging to complete.

The two CD's of fun learning activities include:

Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Number recognition, Ascending and descending order of numbers (We found some of this activity to be to challenging), Shapes, Solids, Symmetry, Angles, Spatial orientation, Divisors, Factors, Days, Minutes, Hours, thinking skills, Measuring temperatures, Calculating, Comparing, Estimating and Fractions.

You can choose activities to play alone without having to complete the entire game. You can play some quick math games and then as they get easier, move on to a more difficult level.

INSTALLATION: Quick and easy.

GAMEPLAY: 9
This game has a fun and unique format that plays like you are involved in a cartoon with real time navigation of Mia. Click on objects to pick them up and click Mia's head for clues.

GRAPHICS: 9
Awesome 3-D animation.

SOUND: 8
The voices are clear and the background music is enjoyable.

DIFFICULTY: 7
You easily guide Mia using your cursor. The game allows you to travel at your own speed and age level from 6 - 10. I would recommend you follow the players guide for game instructions.

CONCEPT: 9
Amusing and educational. The original feature film animation puts the child in full control of the character.

OVERALL: 9
With adorable characters and challenging activities this is a learning game kids will love.
