For the second year, the Wii celebrated huge sales and popularity amongst both casual and hardcore gamers. While the year started a bit slow for game releases, it picked up as the holidays rolled around, giving Wii owners plenty to play on the innovative little system.
Wii Game Of The Year 2007
Super Mario Galaxy
GameZone's Review

Louis Bedigian: Mario World and Mario Land were just names. Mario Sunshine, though representative of the game’s sunny worlds, was also just a name. Super Mario Galaxy, however, is a justifiably
significant title. You aren’t merely playing another great, memorable Mario game with worlds and atmospheres similar to those you’ve explored before. When you step into Galaxy’s world, you’re stepping
into the depths of space. The Mushroom Kingdom is light-years away from the spaced-out, gravity-bending stages you’ll encounter. Bowser and several of his best friends (Goombas, Koopas, Bob-ombs, etc.) are
there to make you feel at home. But you’re not home. You’re in a whole new world.
None of this greatness would have mattered if the camera had been off, if the controls had sucked, or if any technical issues had occurred. Like the other Mario games, Galaxy is a highly polished adventure
that is camera-perfect in almost every circumstance. The view is evenly paced and follows Mario as he walks around the game’s many planets. If you’ve ever merely liked a Mario game, Galaxy will leave you
amazed, awestruck, and completely satisfied. And just when you think it’s over, a special bonus is unveiled. Beyond that, one final treat awaits.
Steven Hopper: Mario's most recent adventure turns out to be his best quest in many years. Super Mario Galaxy offers unique, layered environments and solid and engaging gameplay, making Mario's
official Wii debut a stellar one.
Aceinet: Tell everyone that owns a Wii to put down Wii Sports because the original innovator is back again to blow your mind. This new Mario game is quite simply a breathtaking experience that
every Wii owner must play. No longer is Mario limited to just the Mushroom Kingdom, now Mario is traveling from planet to planet in a platform game unlike any other. The game throws the typical platform
experience for a loop by changing gravity and viewpoints to match the outerspace setting. All new powerups such as the Bee and Boo moves keep you coming back for more. Super Mario Galaxy shows everyone
that the Wii does have amazing games that you can really only experience on the Wii.
Michael Knutson: The Nintendo Wii has had a breakout year and it only got better with the release of one of their mascots: Mario. Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best Mario games that I have
played, and that is saying something since each game is better than the previous, due to new gameplay mechanics, graphics, and more. If you were fortunate to obtain a Nintendo Wii, you need to purchase
this game as no gaming collection will be complete without it.
Eduardo Zacarias: No Super Mario fan or Wii owner should miss out on this year’s best platform game that takes advantage of Nintendo’s new technology. This is a fun game with a lot to offer gamers and darn is it fun.
Angelina Sandoval: Leave it to the creator of Super Mario to make this a platform game for the new age. Super Mario Galaxy is a fun game that takes advantage of the Wii and thus makes it an
addictive gaming joy for gamers of all ages. Long live Mario!
