Angelina Sandoval: For a long time now, Activision has had quite a hold on the skateboarding genre
but EA came out of nowhere with their own brand of realistic skating action. In the end, skate is a
surprisingly enjoyable ride well worth taking.
Natalie Romano: If the Tony Hawk games are the arcade-styled skating game in town then skate must
be the realistic skating game. It’s a hard game to get into but once you’ve got the hang of it, then you’ll
really be enjoying the thrashing fun.
Eduardo Zacarias: Who would have thought that EA had what it took to give Activision’s Tony Hawk
series a run for its money? skate is a far more original and realistic look at the skater’s life and it is
one of the most entertaining thrashing games of this year.
Nick Valentino: Skating fans had a lot to digest when EA introduced its skating game right before
the release of yet another Tony Hawk. It’s a realistic take on the skating lifestyle and it’s done right.
Steven Hopper: This year EA accomplished the impossible, gaining some foothold against Activision's
Birdman empire and presenting the most fun and engaging non-Tony Hawk skateboarding game since, well, ever.
