Publisher Of The Year

Publisher Of The Year 2007 is ...

Microsoft

Michael Knutson:This has been a record year for Microsoft. First off, you have to mention that Halo 3, one of the biggest entertainment launches in history, came out this year. But they also had numerous other blockbuster titles, such as Mass Effect, releasing on their precious console. These are just two of many games released, spanning almost every genre, most of them turning out to be triple A titles that no one should live without. It will be very hard to top what they have provided the gaming community in 2007, but if any publisher can to do so, it is Microsoft.

Stephen Woodward: By shear quantity and quality, Microsoft has dominated this year in great titles.

Eduardo Zacarias: With Halo 3 leading the pack of the Xbox 360’s strongest titles, Microsoft’s own in-house offerings are memorable and distinctive. We can only hope that in 2008 we’ll get to see more exclusives of this year’s caliber.

Natalie Romano: With games like Halo 3 and Mass Effect available, it’s hard not to recognize the gaming goodness Microsoft’s own first-party are bringing its Xbox 360 gamers. There’s nothing quite like console exclusives to make this gaming year such a blast.

Angelina Sandoval: This was a stellar year for Microsoft, and I’m not talking about Halo 3; its other first-party titles that made this year an unforgettable one for Xbox 360 owners or gamers in general. Bravo, Microsoft, you did a great job.

Nick Valentino: This was a great year for the house that Bill Gates built and with titles such as Mass Effect or Halo 3, meaning that this year was an outstanding one that we can only hope can be replicated next year. Congratulations, Microsoft, for such a stellar year.

Steven Hopper: With competition amongst consoles at an all time high, the big "M" really brought their A-game this year with a strong catalog of first party titles from their established franchises and some new ones, with titles like Crackdown, PGR 4, Mass Effect, Forza 2 and of course Halo 3 making the Xbox 360 the system to own this year.

Mike David: Yes, the big "M" is already one of the world's richest companies, but not one to settle on its laurels, Microsoft pulled out the biggest game title of the year with the mega-selling Halo 3, which really turned out to be a good game. But this was a marathon, not a sprint, and Microsoft Game Studios managed to put out last year's game of the year, Gears of War on the PC with all sorts of new multiplayer features. Throw in another "A" list title with Mass Effect and the "Games for Windows" series, and I would say it was a good year to be playing Microsoft titles.

Aceinet: Regardless of what you think about their hardware strategy or track record, Microsoft knows that games are the key to winning and competing in the console race. Halo 3 will probably end up being one of the biggest selling games of 2007. Yet Microsoft wasn't just a one-game studio with other releases such as Forza 2, Crackdown, Project Gotham 4 and Mass Effect. All quality titles that can eat away countless hours of your gaming time.
