Eduardo Zacarias: Fans of Hideo Kojima’s MGS series are waiting patiently for this one and we’re still waiting because we know that Guns of the Patriots will be one of those unforgettable games that will make PS3 gamers glad they bought Sony’s console. Michael Knutson: This is one of the most hotly anticipated games coming out for the PlayStation 3, and rightly so. With a huge budget, talented development studio and a legendary designer, it is hard to image anything but greatness for this game. Many questions have been raised, such as: "Why is Solid Snake old?" "Raiden looks awesome, but has he finally grown up from his pansy MGS2 days?" "Will Solid Snake make it out alive?" Only the developers know the answers to these questions and we will have to wait an agonizing couple more months to find out! Angelina Sandoval: Delayed once again, the anticipation is high for the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 and what will, quite possibly, be the most amazing PS3 game of 2008. Konami, I beg you, don’t keep us waiting too long for this game. Natalie Romano: The screenshots and E3 trailer alone left me salivating and anxiously awaiting our turn to take our SIXAXIS controller and play this highly-anticipated title and what is sure to be Solid Snake’s most interesting mission yet. Louis Bedigian: The sights. The story. The music. Metal Gear Solid is every bit the moviegoing experience Hideo Kojima set out to create. We spend months -- and in this case, years -- anticipating each new MGS with repeat viewings of every trailer. By the time the games are released, we've dissected every ounce of the story (that we know of) to the point that we're making predictions that are more absurd than Kojima's own mind-boggling outcome. But while you can be in awe of the screenshots and surmise the plot, you will never be able to imagine the extreme nature of the gameplay and its groundbreaking action (yes, action) until the day comes when Konami lets you pick up the controller. They gave a few thousand Japanese and North American gamers the chance to do just that at the Tokyo Game Show in September and E for All in October. The demo was limited to 20 minute intervals, preventing anyone from reaching the end. But the experience -- every jaw-dropping minute of it -- was unforgettable. When you get caught for the first time and must fight your way through MGS4's immense battlefield, it won't be a game of shooting to survive -- it's a game of shooting to kill. This is going to be one of the most exhilarating third-person shooters ever created. The effects are impeccable, the best of any 2008 release revealed thus far. And the music and sound effects, if anywhere near the quality of their demo presentation, will leave a long-lasting impression that will make it even harder for the next MGS to top itself. For tactical espionage action, we are on the brink of a spy game revolution. Nick Valentino: From the fact that Solid Snake is suffering from rapid aging or that a number of familiar characters from past MGS games will show up, Metal Gear Solid 4 is looking like a game that will make 2008 a treat for game fans. Steven Hopper: With incredible graphics and gameplay features trickling out slowly from Konami, Metal Gear Solid 4 is certainly the most anticipated game of the next console generation, albeit the most enigmatic. Here's hoping that Snake's upcoming adventure lives up to the astronomical hype.
