Playstation 3 Game Of The Year 2007

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

GameZone's Review

Louis Bedigian: Uncharted’s male hero can’t match the appeal of Lara Croft. But his game is on par with Tomb Raider’s greatest sequels. Combining bits of the Eidos classic with slight hints of ICO, Uncharted is an adventure and exploration-heavy title that offers a high level of world-based puzzles. Rather than being a game where the solution to Puzzle A means finding a key or solving a silly mini-game, players will have to examine every area of the environment to figure out where to go next.

The game is so deep and varied (and realistic and gorgeous) that you may lose your way from time to time, igniting the frustration that complex, search-and explore-based gameplay often contains. Unexpected gunshot wounds are also depressing. But like any game that’s truly worth the money you spent on it, Uncharted is not one to toss aside because of unwelcome difficulties. Perseverance is rewarded with a game that is wholly entertaining and fulfilling.

Eduardo Zacarias: Rarely does a game juggle great gameplay with a true cinematic presence that outshines most Indiana Jones wannabe flicks. The game’s cast of colorful characters, exotic locales and fun action make this an action game of epic proportions.

Nick Valentino: Uncharted is one of those adventure games that surpass even those Hollywood blockbusters in every way. With a collection of wonderfully deep characters and story that will have you loving every second of this game, Uncharted is the reason you should own a PS3.

Steven Hopper: Naughty Dog's latest franchise began on the PS3 this year, and if Uncharted is any indication, then it certainly has the legs to be a successful one. With fantastic graphics, fun gameplay, and a cinematic appeal that harkens the feel of Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, Uncharted is certainly deserving of PS3's top game of the year.

Natalie Romano: An enchanting and deeply involving story are but a small part of what makes Uncharted such a grand adventure. The likeable heroes will win you over and so will the gameplay. This is a PS3 classic that has it all.

Angelina Sandoval: Very few adventure games this side of Lara Croft have you cheering on its well-rounded heroes and applauding the excellent story that makes movies like “National Treasure” seem dull in comparison. Drake’s Fortune is an experience and it’s one that should not be missed.
