Best Multiplayer Game of the Year 2007 is ...

Halo 3

GameZone's Review

Aceinet: What more can you say about Halo 3 that hasn't already been said? Well the multiplayer experience is almost the complete package when it comes to a multiplayer game. Four player Co-Op play through the Campaign mode (single player game) and 16 players for the multiplayer maps. It's hard to find a game that offers more in a Multiplayer experience than Halo 3.

Michael Knutson: Was there any doubt that this game would win Multiplayer Game of the Year? Halo 3 is one of the best first person shooter games online. You can logon at anytime of the day and find tens of thousands of players online trying to get their rank up and just having fun. The abundance of options makes this game even better to play online, such as the new Forge Mode. This is one game that will be played online for years to come, and players will enjoy every second of it.

Nick Valentino: There’s a reason Xbox 360 gamers are still playing Halo 3 long after they had finished the single-player main game and it’s because the multiplayer is so addictively enjoyable who can really blame them. With enough game match types and maps, this is the obsessive joy multiplayer dreams are made of and how online multiplayer should be handled.

Louis Bedigian: My first LAN party involved three Xbox 360s, one friend and 12 strangers. We crammed in front of the three available televisions (each of a different size and resolution), fought over controllers and seating arrangements (LAN parties are better with a Lay-Z-Boy), and were completely glued to the visions before us. It was one of the best multiplayer experiences I’ve had in years. We had a large table full of two-liter pop bottles, six bags of chips, several boxes of cookies, a few packs of candy and other snacks, but only once did we raid the kitchen. No matter how appetizing the treats, no matter how severely our stomachs growled, we weren’t leaving our controllers. The reason: the game we were playing was Halo 3.

Angelina Sandoval: You know you’re addicted to Halo when you start dreaming about a Slayer match. Halo 3 brings us one of the most addictive multiplayer games that will surely continue to be a LAN party classic and an online addiction for years to come. Go ahead, play one game and you’ll see how hard it is to put the controller down.

Natalie Romano: Once again, Bungie outdoes itself with a great multiplayer portion to their amazing game. The trilogy certainly does multiplayer right but this third one just adds more of the things we love in our online and offline experience. This is great stuff, indeed.

Eduardo Zacarias: You might have heard all the hype from your Xbox 360 friends who tell you that they can’t put the game down thanks to its amazing multiplayer mode. The hype is all true because the multiplayer portion of the game is just as spectacular as the single-player game. It’s addictive multiplayer gaming at it’s best.

Mike David: When I first logged online to go up against other players I was shocked initially to find that many of the people I was playing against, hadn't even played the single player campaign. Well, it didn't take long to appreciate the competitive nature of the average HALO player, with a strong initial run of maps that catered to every style of player including those who like short hallways and twisting tight turns to those who enjoy being able to drive across massive spaces with snipers firing from every imaginable corner. It is a perfect excuse to flex some competitive muscle for those fortunate enough to own a 360. If that wasn't enough, remember, on launch day, over 500,000 people were online playing against each other throughout that first 24 hours.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
