Apache: Air Assault Takes Off This Fall

Helicopters tend to get a bad rap in video games. As we're long removed from the days of Pilotwings and Desert Strike the ol' rotorcraft have been often overlooked in favor of high-speed fighter jets, or more often, as end-level bosses in first-person shooters. Well, Activision wants to change all that with Apache: Air Assault Developed by the minds at Gaijin Entertainment behind the critically-acclaimed IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey (and the incredibly horrid X-Blades, but let's forget that one), the game hopes to erase all of the misconceptions behind helicopters. But will it make you want to GET TO THE CHOPPA? Find out after the cut. Read More

E3 2010: Splatterhouse Hands-On

Namco Bandai's Splatterhouse (based on the 1988 Genesis game) is a title that aims to be over the top to the point that the buckets of blood would make George Romero cringe. Many may know the development history of the game, more particularly the back and forth between Bottle Rocket Studios and the Afro Samurai Team, and through this long journey Splatterhouse was by far one of the least polished titles at E3. E3 2010: Itagaki Reveals Devil's Third, A Hyper-Violent Shooter

Game developer Tomonobu Itagaki, the former head of Tecmo's Team Ninja, is well-known for games with slick, fluid action, plenty of dismembered body parts, and of course, a liberal view of the female form. Since leaving his long-tenured post, gamers have been waiting with anticipation of the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden creator's new game with his development team at Valhalla Game Studios, and now, that wait has come to an end. Feast your eyes above, ladies and gentlemen, at Devil's Third, a new shooter published by THQ, which promises that Itagaki, once again, is set to reinvent the action genre. Read More

In just one week PlayStation owners will once again be able to don the blades of Kratos and slash through their adversaries in Sony's HD reboot of the first two God of War games. The video below contains one of the series' many cinematic moments where Kratos takes the faithful Pegasus for a spin. **Note: The following videos contain crucial plot related details that may potentially spoil the experience for those of you who have not yet played either of the games. Unlock Psylocke in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 via DLC

Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of Betsy Braddock, better known as the X-Woman Psylocke. But apparently someone at Vicarious Visions likes her, because she's just been announced as a new DLC character for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. As you can see, Psylocke is an expert with her psy-blades, and is a skilled melee and martial arts combatant. While I'd prefer another X-Femme like Rogue or, hell, even Marrow, Psylocke looks like she'll be a fun enough fighter. Read More
