Kombo's Weekly Round-Up: TGS 2010, Halo: Reach, Move, and More!

It was a busy week here at Kombo thanks to the Tokyo Game Show, which is trying to make a comeback from obscurity, and as a result, was filled with announcements from Japanese game developers, including the BIZZARRE announcement that Yakuza 4 will be a zombie game. Yeah, figure that one out.  We also got our hands on Sony's Move for the PlayStation 3, and have several reviews up for the launch games.  And, of course, there was the release of Halo: Reach, which apparently was a huge success, with $200 million in sales on day one. Unfortunately, 90% of those purchasers are still whiny little teenage boys, but with a new auto-mute feature for truly annoying players, Reach's online gameplay is better than ever.  Check out this week's news after the break and get caught up. Valkyria Chronicles 3 Confirmed for PSP

All week we've been following the rumors that Sega is planning to announce Valkyria Chronicles 3 at TGS this week, but now we have confirmation thanks to the fine folks at Famitsu. According to a leaked copy of the mag not only is the new game coming, but it will be out on January 27, 2011 in Japan (no American date yet unfortunately). Perhaps the biggest news of all, the franchise is sticking with the PSP, as it will be released exclusively for Sony's handheld. Tons of new details after the break. Read More


Valkyria Chronicles 3 Accidentally Revealed

Even though Valkyria Chronicles 2 just got out the gate that's not stopping Sega from pushing the franchise ahead. The company has accidentally announced that they will be debuting Valkyria Chronicles 3 at this week's TGS. The snafu arose when the company released a .gif image announcing their lineup for the show, complete with an "unannounced game" to be shown on Thurs. However, some ingenious sleuths discovered that if the image was converted from a .gif to a .jpg a new schedule was revealed, with Valkyria Chronicles 3 showing up clear as day. So much for secrecy.
