PSN Thursday – 8.6.09: Batman, Nazi Zombies, and LittleBigInFamous

Another Thursday, another PlayStation Network update. Those looking to give Batman: Arkham Asylum a shot before it comes out later this month are in luck. There is a 1GB demo now available. Aside from that, Call of Duty: World at War has a new map pack. It consists of four new multiplayer maps, including Der Riese, a new Nazi Zombie level. The endless LittleBigPlanet DLC continues to be…umm…never ending. This time you can pay $1.99 to dress your Sackboy up like a hipster bike messenger with super powers of electricity. Yes, I'm referring to Cole from InFamous. Another notable release is Square Enix's tower defense game, Crystal Defenders. For $9.99 you can download the full game or try out the demo for free. Check out the whole list after the break. Read More

PSN Thursday – 7.30.09: Obese Princesses and Watchmen

I'd venture to say that this week's PlayStation Network update is above average in quality, mostly due to the fact that Fat Princess is now out. In addition, the second episode of Watchmen: The End is Nigh is available for 15 bucks. If you'd like to try before you buy, there is also a demo version. Your standard Rock Band and Guitar Hero DLC makes an appearance. However, you may notice the lack of LittleBigPlanet content. I'm sure we can expect some next week though. Keep reading for the official word from the PlayStation Blog. Read More

Rumor: PSP-Go to be Announced at E3, PS3 Slim Sometime Later

Over the past several weeks, we've been hearing a lot of unsubstantiated buzz surrounding new units from Sony, including the PSP-Go and a slimmer PlayStation 3 (the latter of which Sony went on to deny). Now, on the cusp of E3, a "mole" has apparently enlightened Ars Technica on some new details of what to expect. The first information regards the alleged newer, slimmer PlayStation 3. Word is that it's real, but won't be announced at E3, as Sony would like to move the units already available on store shelves before unleashing the thin-is-in unit around August or September. "We shouldn't expect a price cut," Ars says, "but the possibility is certainly there." Read More

Nintendo's Full Q1 Line-up for the UK

Earlier today, we brought you word of how you could put your Miis on your DS with a new title called "Walk with Me," rather than "Walk with Mii" for some reason. Go figure. In any case, that's only half the story; Nintendo has released their line-up for the first quarter of 2009... or at least, Nintendo UK has. Odds are, a lot of releases will be in close proximity to the NA releases, though, so it can be useful info to us here, anyway. Read More
