Game Review

UFC Undisputed 2010 left a knockout effect on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 when it came out earlier this summer, despite the fact it's not selling as well as last year's edition. It still improved in enough places to be considered a worthwhile brawler, however. If you own a PSP, it’s your turn to dominate in the ring with your own version of Undisputed, although it doesn't quite have the same... Read Review

SmackDown Vs. Raw 2011 Gets Another THQ Online Pass

THQ has followed in the footsteps of EA's sports division, creating their own version of the publisher's Online Pass. The pass discourages players for buying a game used, requiring them to shell out for extra features to play against others online, unless they buy a sealed copy of the game including a special one-time-use code. THQ first made use of the code with UFC Undisputed 2010, released earlier this year. Now, they're doing it again for WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011, but this time, upping the cost of the pass to $10, or 800 Microsoft points. Why? Because those who buy the game used won't just be able to play online, they won't even get the game's entire roster. Read More

UFC Undisputed Re-Enters the Octagon on PSP

UFC Undisputed 2010's release earlier this year, despite the outright nuclear popularity of the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, fell on somewhat deaf ears due to the release of other major titles, such as Red Dead Redemption and Super Mario Galaxy 2. However, THQ is trying to reinvigorate sales of the game by releasing - what else - a PSP version of the game, set to hit stores on September 7. The game will feature the usuals from a console hand-me-down to the PSP, with most of the same features and ad-hoc wireless play. However, as nice as it is to see the Octagon's action come to the palms of our hands, it doesn't really do the game, nor the PSP, any favors. Read More

THQ Pins Poor UFC Sales on Red Dead Redemption

Party-pooper When the UFC Unleashed debuted last year it was surprise smash, chalking up healthy sales and a very positive critical reception. This year UFC Undisputed 2010 was hoping to achieve the same, and given the fact that it was a bigger and better version of last year's game the outcome seemed almost certain. At last, THQ would have their very own Madden, an annual franchise that would make them boatloads of cash every year. But then a funny thing happened on the way to the bank, Undisputed underperformed and THQ execs were left scrambling for reasons why their game lost so much momentum. Their answer? It's all John Marston's fault. Justifications after the break. Read More
