Rumor: New Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon in 2009

Here's a nice little rumor to get you through your Wednesday morning routine of surfing game blogs and drinking coffee - Ubisoft is working on 2 new installments of their popular Tom Clancy shooting franchises, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon. CVG broke the story this morning and while details are pretty slim, their source did say that there's a chance that we could be seeing both by Christmas 2009. No word on if they will be sequels to the current Rainbow Six Vegas or Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. More details after the jump. Read More

Tom Clancy's EndWar for PS3 Not "a Crappy Port"

In the developer blog for Tom Clancy's EndWar, PS3 Producer Guillaume Brunier offers assurance that his version of the upcoming title will not be "a crappy PS3 port," a fate that has been known to befall a few other games that have shared domain with the Xbox 360. He says that, first things first, it is not the team's intent to deliver a poor PS3 experience. The game will offer the exact same feature set as on the Xbox 360, "including voice command, 4 vs. 4 multi-player games and (for the first time on PS3!!!) persistent online campaign." Plus, there are going to be some Sixaxis controls included, and not as a last minute deal, but already in the version they have running. He goes on to mention that the team releasing this is the same as those who released Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Splinter Cell Double Agent on the PS3, and they even brought in some people from Assassin's Creed for a few months. Plus, there are some key members shared between the PS3 and 360 teams, the latter of which are just upstairs from them, leading to some cohesive teamwork. Tom Clancy's EndWar for the PS3 is scheduled to release at the same time the 360 version hits. Read More
