Nintendo Download - 8.17.09: Fun Keeps Popping Up, From Slot Cars to Rock Stars, Sudoku to Ninjutsu

Friday marked the 20th anniversary of the release of the SEGA Genesis in North America, and perhaps in a slight nod to their former competition, Nintendo has released one of SEGA's more interesting titles from the platform's early days to the Virtual Console in The Revenge of Shinobi. Back in the late 80's/early 90's, Shinobi was a fairly popular franchise, though not exactly SEGA's flagship. Rumor: TransFormers: Origins, Call of Duty, and Shinobi to Xbox LIVE Arcade

Ripten has picked up on a rumor (with accompanying screenshot, no less) that Xbox LIVE Arcade is getting a plethora of interesting new games. Transformers will probably come out when Revenge of the Fallen does, Call of Duty will probably re-release when Modern Warfare 2 comes out. And Shinobi's advent will probably coincide with the Ninja Insurrection of 2011." Makes sense to me. I didn't care much about Call of Duty then, and not much has changed. Shinobi? I've got that on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. But a cheap TransFormers game (I hope)? Now that has me interested. Read More
