The Wii is well known for several different types of games, but the role-playing game (RPG) has not been one of them. When Ignition Entertainment announced over a year ago that a brand new RPG was coming to the Wii, it brewed hope that maybe the Wii could actually get a decent RPG since Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World flopped horrendously. Unfortunately for both the Wii and RPG fans, Arc Rise Fantasia has dashed these hopes into the ground.

As it turns out, people are playing more than just Wii Sports and Wii Fit on everyone's favorite waggle controlled video game console.
Usage stats for the Wii show that RPG fans are surprisingly willing to play their games with Wii Remotes and Nunchuks in hand. Everyone expects Wii Sports and Super Smash Bros. near the top of the hours played list, but who would've guessed that Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (average hours played among Nintendo Channel users are 31 and 44 respectively) would be holding their own as well?
I'm not a betting man, but the smart money says we'll be seeing more RPGs on Nintendo's home console. Personally I'm hoping for an updated remake of The Magic of Scheherazade.
The role playing series has been around for many years. A few years ago Tales of Symphonia was released for the Nintendo GameCube. This game proved t Read More

While this morning has been mainly about Microsoft, here's something for you Nintendo lovers. Feast your eyes on the the TGS 08 trailer for Namco Bandai's Wii exclusive, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. I don't know about you guys but I think this looks pretty damn amazing for a Wii game. Who says the system can't do decent graphics?
This trailer has inspired me to once again grow my bangs out in true anime fashion.
In an interesting twist (I guess, maybe they do this all the time, and I never noticed), Nintendo has released their US game line-up for the second half of 2008 and into 2009... to Europe.
Some highlights included on the list are Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Call of Duty World at War, Guitar Hero World Tour, Skate It, Mushroom Men, two Star Wars games, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers, Sonic Unleashed, Ghostbusters, and quite a bit more.
Better still, Nintendo says that this is an "incomplete" list, meaning more titles could sneak their way into the lineup. Here's hoping more from the Big N themselves.

I have no idea what they're saying, but at least it looks nice.
Video Games Blogger says that this title is set two years after Tales of Symphonia for the GameCube, and will be released on November 1st in North America. It will follow two new young heroes in Emil Castagnier and Marta Lualdi as they discover why their world has fallen into ruin. They'll cross paths with the original ToS cast, as well as summon spirit Ratatosk, who claims to be lord of all monsters.
The game also features a recruitment system that allows you to bring over 200 creatures into your fold, which can be trained and leveled for use in the game's updated real-time battle system.
