Liam Neeson returns in a sequel to the 2008 sleeper hit, Taken. In Taken 2, the action moves from Paris to Instanbul, where retired CIA Operative Bryan Mills (Neeson) and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter in the first movie. The movie is directed by Olivier Megaton and stars Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace.
When an action hero guns down a pile of bad guys we don't usually dwell on the consequences. Each goon probably has friends and family that care about them and mourn their deaths. I imagine a wife standing over their grave, "Sure, he was a terrorist involved in human trafficking, but I loved him all the same." They'd be sad, but probably not surprised or out for revenge. Which makes it convenient that Liam Neeson's character in the first Taken just happened to murder a bunch of criminals with nobody but even more criminals to mourn them. Taken 2 opens with a funeral for the men he entertainingly tortured and killed in the first film.
