PS3 Not Getting 3D Blu-Ray Support Until Later this Year

Whether 3D ends up a fad or the future, it's hard to argue that it has become the biggest change in the film industry in many years. After the exploding popularity of Avatar, practically every single major film company under the sun has jumped onto the 3D bandwagon - with Sony, of course leading the way. If you were to visit Sony's booth at CES 2010 this past January, the message was clear. 3D is the future, and if they have their way, every movie you see, every show you watch, and every video game you play will have you looking at them through ridiculous-looking glasses. This week, Sony also announced a new firmware update to its line of Blu-ray players, bringing long-awaited 3D movie support to the format. That is, their line of Blu-ray players with the exception of the most popular: The PlayStation 3. Read More
