Nintendo Download - 12/14/09 - 11 New Downloads Blast Their Way to Nintendo Systems

It's kind of funny the turnaround the Virtual Console has had this year. It started off a bit slow, with a rumor even emerging after a few no-shows that Nintendo would be discontinuing the service. But now, we're getting some pretty good stuff. Case in point, today's two offerings. Not only are we getting Blaster Master for the NES, which for many people could have carried the day on its own, but another underground hero emerges in Earthworm Jim 2 for the SEGA Genesis. And of course, there are plenty of other more contemporary releases on WiiWare and DSiWare alike. You can find all the details in the press release after the cut. Read More

Nintendo Download - 11/30/09 - Nintendo Offers 10 Downloads to Help You Recover from Your Holiday We

Yes, you read that correctly-- ten games. And it's not one of those weeks where they roll out half a dozen clock/calendar/calculator combinations, or where they split something like Electroplankton up into five or so parts. At the top of the list is the latest Tales from Monkey Island chapter on WiiWare, for the usual 1,000 Wii Points, followed by Hudson's My Zoo and Digital Leisure's Copter Crisis for half that amount (or both for the same). And if you're in the holiday spirit, then the 1,000 point Christmas Clix may be just what you're looking for. DSiWare brings something new from Electronic Arts in Foto Face: The Face Stealer Strikes for 800 DSi Points, which puts you in the game. The word-puzzle game Bookworm from PopCap can be yours for 500 DSi Points, and Nintendo brings the magic in Master of Illusion Express: Mind Probe for 200. And if you can't get enough Sudoku, then 500 points will net you Sudoku Challenge! from Digital Leisure. Finally, Virtual Console has a little love with the 800-point Combatribes for the Super NES and arcade version of Solomon's Key for 600. Check out all the details on each game in the press release after the cut. Read More
