Nintendo Announces Launch Dates for Kirby and Donkey Kong

Has the dust settled enough to say that Nintendo absolutely dominated E3 this year?  Am I allowed to unequivocally state my opinion in that matter?  Even when completely disregarding the 3DS and all it brings to the table, Nintendo's software lineup was outstanding.  Sitting in the Nokia Theater as Nintendo just kept rolling out incredible title after incredible title had me reeling. And now a lot of those games are landing solidified release dates.  Two of which most gamers are exceptionally excited for.  Kirby's Epic Yarn and Donky Kong Country Returns have earned their launch dates as Nintendo dropped a press release this morning.  From the release: “Everyone wants fun, engaging experiences, and they want great value,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Nintendo  games give you both. And no matter what your taste, you’ll find exclusive experiences that just aren’t available anywhere else.” Hit the break for the release dates (I know, "what a jerk!)... Read More

E3 2010: Everything There Is To Know About the Nintendo 3DS

It was announced before the show, but we still weren't really sure what to expect. By the time the Nintendo press conference was over and we got our hands on the device -- like everyone else -- we were blown away. The 3D really works and doesn't require glasses or any other kind of trick. On the right side of the unit is a "slider" which allows the player to control the intensity of the 3D. When the slider is turned all the way down the game downgrades to 2D, slide it back up and it reverts to 3D. Click the jump for a bullet pointed run down on all of the 3DS information. Read More

New Super Mario Bros. Wii Get's a 40/40

Last week's issue of Japanese Famitsu Weekly awarded New Super Mario Bros. Wii with a perfect score. This adds to the game's positive critical reception as well as Famitsu's own quickly-growing pantheon of perfect score awards. With perfect scores, the four Famitsu reviewers for New Super Mario Bros. Wii praised pretty much every aspect of the game from the singleplayer to the multiplayer. First and foremost however was the responsiveness of that game's controls. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is the first traditional Mario game and the second game featuring the character Mario to get a perfect 40/40 from Famitsu. Famitsu has now awarded more perfect scores in 2009 than any previous year. Read More

Nintendo Download - 9.7.09: From Faraway Galaxies to the Family Room, Start Fall on a Fun-Filled Foo

Just as announced last week, today's Nintendo Download sees the release of the newest chapter of Konami's longstanding run-n-gun series, Contra ReBirth. It's 1,000 Wii Points for E10+ action, and I think I've said just about everything I can about it already without having played it (that part comes tonight). But that's not the only thing of merit for download this week; the Virtual Console continues rolling out fun from a galaxy far, far away with Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi on the Super NES (of course). Rounding things out are the 700-point ColorZ for WiiWare, with DSiWare getting a miniature version of the DS's Clubhouse Games for 500 points. Find out more about each title in the press release after the cut. Read More

Media: Contra ReBirth Coming to North America on Monday

At long last, Contra ReBirth is finally coming to WiiWare in North America. Okay, so it hasn't been that long of a wait, but it has certainly felt like it. Konami has announced that on Monday, I'll be dropping 1,000 Wii Points to pick up this title. Meanwhile, GoNintendo reveals that Europe have already gotten their hands on it as of today. I keep experiencing errors when I try to upload the debut trailer, so here it is from GamingBits instead: More videos and info after the cut. Read More
