Resident Evil 5 DLC Was Cut from Original Game

A producer at Capcom revealed this week that the DLC that will be added for Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition was originally going to be in the initial release. The two new campaigns being added, called "Desperate Escape" and "Lost in Nightmares" were developed as part of the original Resident Evil 5 campaign but were cut due to balancing issues. This is according to assistant producer Mie Suzuki in an interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki Playstation. The entire Resident Evil 5 campaign casts players as either Chris Redfield or Sheva Alomar. Each piece of content in question however shifts the focus to series mainstay Jill Valentine with either Chris or the previously non-playable Josh Stone. Capcom may have cut the chapters out to keep the entire experience consistently between Chris and Sheva. One of the new campaigns is a flashback while the other takes place parallel to part of the main game. Read More
