Top 5 PSP RPGs

The PSP has - despite what some people insist - a seriously impressive library of great titles, especially RPGs. In fact, you could argue that the ha Read More

Pata, Pata, Pata, PWN\'D: Patapon 3 Multiplayer Details

Some people like to get down on the PSP for its supposedly sparse library, but for those of us who know what we're talking about, there's a slew of game for the portable PlayStation that are simply too good to pass up. Out of all of these, my absolute favorite has got to be Patapon 2. Lucky for me, then, and for other occasional Pata-gods, that Sony's just announced the existence of Patapon 3 - and its more expansive multiplayer modes. Hit the jump for more details. Read More

E3 2010 Rumor: Patapon 3, Twisted Metal X to Join Sly Cooper On the PS3

We already reported that Sly Cooper 3D Collection is headed to the PS3. Now Kotaku is reporting a rumor that Patapon 3 and Twisted Metal X are also PS3-bound. Patapon 3 would be the first version of the series to appear anywhere but the PSP. The game is a hybrid rhythm-action game and tactical-battle game. Twisted Metal X would presumably be a new car-combat game. Kotaku reported it as being "not-so-new," but we can't find any trace of a Twisted Metal X existing before this rumor. If these aren't all announced tomorrow at E3s press conference, then look for them to pop up later in the week. Read More

Blink and You'll Miss It: "Retail Version" of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Appears on GameStop.

Joystiq reports that GameStop has, or rather had, listed a special "retail version" of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PlayStation 3 on their website. However, the link to the page it once inhabited no longer seems to function. As with other such "downloadables at retail," such as Patapon 2 or Grand Theft Auto IV's downloadable content, there is not an actual game disc inside, but a voucher good for one download of the game, plus some other bonus goodies. Strangely enough, there was no 360 listing for the item, but that may simply be the consequence of an accidental listing of the PS3 version, given that it is no longer there. So, what was the "collector's edition" version said to contain? Read More

Best Buy Canada Offering inFAMOUS for $30 and More

When it comes to big sales, great deals, and cool preorders, it is not at all uncommon for Canada to get the shaft. Fortunately, however, it seems that Best Buy is seeking to remedy that this Summer with quite a few good deals for those who are interested in them. Perhaps the most noteworthy of the lot is the recently-released PlayStation 3 title inFAMOUS, which sees a $40 reduction to just $29.99 from June 30th to July 2nd. If I were a PlayStation 3 owner, I'd definitely look into that. And it would be tempting to remedy that the week before, if I had the cash to spare. June 26th to 29th has the 80GB PS3 for $399.99, and it comes with two free games, which in the ad appear to be Resistance and Metal Gear Solid 4, two of the Greatest Hits collection. No telling if other Greatest Hits are instead applicable, for those wondering. And there's still more. Read More

Rumor: PSP-Go to be Announced at E3, PS3 Slim Sometime Later

Over the past several weeks, we've been hearing a lot of unsubstantiated buzz surrounding new units from Sony, including the PSP-Go and a slimmer PlayStation 3 (the latter of which Sony went on to deny). Now, on the cusp of E3, a "mole" has apparently enlightened Ars Technica on some new details of what to expect. The first information regards the alleged newer, slimmer PlayStation 3. Word is that it's real, but won't be announced at E3, as Sony would like to move the units already available on store shelves before unleashing the thin-is-in unit around August or September. "We shouldn't expect a price cut," Ars says, "but the possibility is certainly there." Read More
