Wii-kly Update - 03/02/09: Ogre Battle and Family & Friends Party

Well, with last week's release of the Commodore 64 on the Virtual Console, I was a little worried that we might see nothing but C64 games on the Virtual Console for awhile. Not to begrudge that particular system, but thankfully, that does not seem to be the case, as Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen arrives on the Super NES this week. Granted, I'm about as ambivalent towards that title as I am C64, but at least it means things will remain nice and random... for what that's worth. Meanwhile, over on WiiWare... some would say the Wii is a gimmick, and having games from a company named Gammick is not likely to help deter the naysayers, especially as their contribution this week seems to put the "casual" into "casual gaming" as they release Family & Friends Party, a video board game for up to eight players. I'm sure it's fun and all, but for 1,000 Wii Points... does anyone have anything good to say about Ogre Battle? Hit the jump for the full details on both titles. Read More


Super Punch-Out!!, Ogre Battle, and More Rated by ESRB

Nintendo World Report... er, reports that a number of new titles have been rated by the ESRB for Nintendo's Virtual Console and WiiWare. On the Virtual Console side of things, Super Punch-Out!! may be poised to pave the way to Nintendo's next-gen offering with a rating of "E" for Everyone, while Square-Enix's Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen receives the same.
