Game Review

Getting a port of a port isn't as out-of-place as you might think, as developers occasionally like bringing an experience from one console to another, then roll the dice to see how it fares on, say, the handheld or iOS front.  That's the case with Ninja Gaiden II, which was reborn on the PlayStation 3 a couple of years back as Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and now comes to the PS Vita... Media: Ninja Gaiden Σ 2 - Yosuke Hayashi Interview

Ninja Gaiden Σ 2's release is only a couple of short weeks away, and then PlayStation 3 owners will get to see what their Xbox 360 counterparts have been enjoying for some time now, plus so much more. It sort of makes you wonder who the real winners are, though I imagine some people would gladly drag out a tortoise/hare metaphor here. But before we reach that point, the new head of Tecmo's Team Ninja, Yosuke Hayashi, discusses the group's latest title, and how things have been following former head Tomonobu Itagaki's departure. MEDIA: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Final European Trailer

Koei Tecmo yesterday posted their "final" Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 trailer for Europe on YouTube. The trailer is available in HD and shows about four minutes of gameplay from all the playable characters, plus some comic book-style scenes. The animated comic slides – styled more like an American comic book than a manga, open into shots of main character Ryu Hayabusa fighting some of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2's bosses. The animated panels might be from the collectible comic book that comes as a pre-order bonus at GameStop. Ryu actually only makes up a small part of the trailer. Most of the trailer focuses on Sigma 2's three new playable characters, devoting combat sequences and small storyline clips to Ayane, Momiji, and Rachel. Considering the probable length of Ryu's campaign in the Xbox 360 version of Ninja Gaiden II, adding gameplay for three more characters should ensure a relatively large amount of single-player content for an action game. The final trailer revealed an October 2nd European release date for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 – three days after the North American release on September 29th. Read More
