Amazon Gold Box Deals for Wii

Amazon.com has brought back their video game Gold Box deals for the day, and the Wii is once again the console upon which they are focused. The "Deal of the Day" is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up, whose list price is $49.99, was $46.99 yesterday, and is only $29.98 today. Our review isn't up yet, but that's not a bad price for the game. In Lightning Deals, they've already sold through their stock of House of the Dead 2 & 3 and EA Sports Active: Susan B Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Edition, but the hint for the deal coming at at 12pm PDT is "Ninjas can be cute." I would guess Mini Ninjas to be the item of the moment there. 2pm PDT holds the hint "This is one house where you don't want to trick or treat." House of the Dead: Overkill, perhaps? 4pm PDT says "Join our favorite detective on this chilling mystery;" I'm not sure on that one. And finally, 6pm PDT just says "Bring it on!" A cheerleader game, perhaps? I don't know. You can keep an eye on these and grab TMNT by heading over to Amazon through this link. Read More

PSN Thursday – 8.20.09: Smash Cars, Bloody Roar, and Dick

Personally, I find this week's PlayStation Network update a bit underwhelming. Especially when you consider Wednesday's Xbox Live update included Shadow Complex and a Lost Planet 2 demo. The full version of Smash Cars will be available to download for 15 bucks. Also, Sony continues the trend of steadily releasing PSone games every week. This time we are getting the original Bloody Roar. To be perfectly honest, I had never heard of Bloody Roar until I read today's press release. From what I can tell, it's a pretty standard fighting game that provides you with the ability to turn in to animals…or something. You can check that one out for the usual 10 bucks. In what may be the oddest release of week, new DLC for PAIN will feature Andy Dick as a add-on character. Umm, huh? From the looks of things, Andy Dick's career is past its prime and he's looking for some attention. Oh well. Continue Reading for the sacred Sony text. Read More

PSN Thursday – 8.6.09: Batman, Nazi Zombies, and LittleBigInFamous

Another Thursday, another PlayStation Network update. Those looking to give Batman: Arkham Asylum a shot before it comes out later this month are in luck. There is a 1GB demo now available. Aside from that, Call of Duty: World at War has a new map pack. It consists of four new multiplayer maps, including Der Riese, a new Nazi Zombie level. The endless LittleBigPlanet DLC continues to be…umm…never ending. This time you can pay $1.99 to dress your Sackboy up like a hipster bike messenger with super powers of electricity. Yes, I'm referring to Cole from InFamous. Another notable release is Square Enix's tower defense game, Crystal Defenders. For $9.99 you can download the full game or try out the demo for free. Check out the whole list after the break. Read More
