Game Review

The release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on XBLA was a turning point for Capcom. It seems that was the moment they realized that giving fans what they want yields amazing results. Although I have no idea what the deal entailed, sharing the Marvel license with Activision was undoubtedly no small feat, and yet Capcom did the impossible and here we are today, playing the game that everyone wanted but... Still Not Excited for Marvel v Capcom 3?

If you weren't pumped for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds before watching the promo above, then you certainly should be now. MVC3 - See Viewtiful Joe, Dormammu and more in Action

Apparently the fate of two worlds is to cause as many seizures as possible. Capcom has released some new trailers from their upcoming fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Included in one of the videos are most of the newly announced characters. In the first video we see Dormammu, Iron Man and Thor against Dante, Viewtiful Joe and Amaterasu (or as we refer to her "the wolfy from Okami"). The game looks like it has kicked up the pace a little bit, because we are having difficulty following exactly what is going on on screen.  Marvel vs Capcom 3 is like a window into a six-year-old's brain after he just finished playing Viewtiful Joe before reading hours of Marvel comics and ingesting copious amounts of Mountain Dew and Hot Pockets; and it is glorious. One more trailer after the jump. Read More

Amaterasu and Thor Announced for Marvel vs. Capcom 3

More news from Comic-Con today, as Capcom has just announced two sort-of new characters for the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Marvel's Thor is a shoe-in, especially considering the revival the character is facing over the coming year, with a brand new feature film and obligatory video game tie-in coming next summer. Plus, he's got a big ass hammer, and he's totally badass. Less likely, and doubtless more exciting, is the addition of Okami's heavily stylized wolf god, Amaterasu, who will be using her unique Celestial Brush to bring pain and unhappiness down on combatants. Okamiden, the franchise's first iteration since the original PS2 game, will be hitting the DS next year, but the powerful pup is still an odd choice for a fighting game. Six New Heroes Revealed for Marvel vs. Capcom 3

As promised by Capcom, the coming of the San Diego Comic Con has led to the reveal of several new characters for perhaps the most anticipated fighting game of all time, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Joining the cast will be two MvC veterans. First up is Doctor Doom, the legendary antagonist of...well, pretty much the entire Marvel Universe. Doom has a series of powerful electric attacks, as well as great strength. Also returning will be Street Fighter heroine Chun-Li, who brings her unique kung-fu style and awesome theme music to the fray. They'll be joined by two newcomers. First up is Super-Skrull, a legendary Fantastic Four villain with the unified powers of all four members of the team. He can slam enemies with the strength of The Thing, burn them to a crisp with the Human Torch's abilities, and stretch like Mr. Fantastic. Lastly, Devil May Cry's Trish brings some sex appeal, armed with all of her demon-hunting abilities. While these four are welcome additions, they're only the four reveals that Capcom and Marvel WANTED you to know about. Hit the cut for a couple of leaked newcomers - one isn't really a shock, (being that he has a movie coming out next year) but the other may force you to get down on all fours... Read More
