Crysis 2 Writer Beaten, Arrested at U.S./Canada Border

A writer and art consultant for the upcoming Crysis 2 last week was beaten and arrested by U.S. border patrol agents. Depending on the outcome of his charges he could either face two years in prison or bankrupt himself in his defense. If convicted, Dr. Peter Watts will face two years in prison in the United States and a lifelong ban on travel there. Watts is getting help from a Michigan criminal lawyer, which may be too expensive for the critically successful science fiction writer. Read More


New Mass Effect 2 Character Revealed

BioWare has revealed today another new character and potential party member in the upcoming Mass Effect 2. The fourth new character and fifth character overall to be profiled in BioWare's Mass Effect 2 videos is an Asari biotic named Samara. GameSpot's latest hands-on preview of the game describes her as a vigilante who coldly hunts down criminals – what the game calls a "Justicar." The video introducing Samara shows her to mainly fight with biotics with much more aggression than is normally associated with Asari. According to GameSpot, players will encounter Samara on the Asari homeworld Illium in a quest to actively recruit her. She also seems to be extremely loyal to Shepard upon joining his party. Details on New Gears of War 2 DLC, Dark Corners

Cliff Bleszinski, or "Cliffy B" as he is affectionately known as, is the creative mind behind the Gears of War franchise. He was recently on Major Nelson's podcast talking about Dark Corners, the upcoming Gears of War 2 DLC. "It's a 90-minute section that was actually snipped out of Gears of War 2, where Marcus and Dom are actually going to the Locust homeworld and they're basically suited up in Locust armour and have a choice - because they knocked out a couple of Therons - they can go in guns-blazing as they always do, Rambo-style, or they can go with a more stealth approach, so it's a little bit of stealth in the Gears universe," Bleszinski said.
