PlayStation Home Resurrects XEVIOUS in Namco Museum Community

PlayStation Home Resurrects XEVIOUS in Namco Museum Community

From some magazine (they don't say where the scan came from), Kotaku reports that Namco Bandai's XEVIOUS is on its way to Sony's PlayStation Home via the NamcoMuseum.comm. This version, an HD version of the old 2D scroller, will be known as XEVIOUS Resurrection. It will be joined by the original XEVIOUS, DigDug, Pac-man, Galaga, and Dragon Spirit. Kotaku has the slightly-blurred scan here, but this leads me to wonder: Until now, all of the HD remakes Namco Bandai have produced (Pac-man: Championship Edition, Galaga Legions) have been exclusive to Xbox LIVE Arcade; might those soon make their way to the PlayStation Network? Or might XEVIOUS Resurrection find its way to LIVE? Or could Namco Bandai wind up screwing its fans by dividing up its collection? Read More

New Xbox Experience is the Biggest Thing Since Color TV, Apparently

New Xbox Experience is the Biggest Thing Since Color TV, Apparently

After months of waiting and anticipation/dread, the New Xbox Experience is almost upon us. As such, Microsoft has seen fit to issue a press release to help usher in the dawning of a new age. What they don't seem to cover is for just how long we have to keep calling it the "New" Xbox Experience. Kind of reminds me of that one station they used to have around here, "the New VR." I don't think it's around any more, at least not in that form. Look at the signs, Microsoft! Don't let this happen to you! Anyway, here's what they have to say:LONDON - Nov. 18, 2008 — In 1954, the introduction of colour TV heralded the dawn of a new era in entertainment. On Nov. 19, more than 50 years after that dramatic shift, a new era in home entertainment begins...Oh, give me a break. Hit the jump for the rest. I won't interrupt again, promise. Unless you want me to; then I'll see what I can work out later. Read More

Media: Arkanoid Live! Announced for Xbox Live Arcade

Media: Arkanoid Live! Announced for Xbox Live Arcade

It's not the next creation of the team which brought us Pac-man Championship Edition and Galaga Legions (those were from Namco), but Taito's Arkanoid Live! looks like another interesting revival of oldschool. It's not due until next year, but should be worth checking out just the same. See the full press release after the cut. Read More

Katamari Creator's Nobi Nobi Boy To Be at TGS '08

Katamari Creator's Nobi Nobi Boy To Be at TGS '08

Sometimes, you've just gotta feel bad for guys like Keita Takahashi. Say names like Shigeru Miyamoto, Tomonobu Itagaki, Hideo Kojima, Yuji Naka, Koji Igarashi, or Keiji Inafune, and a lot of people will know who they are... provided they're into gaming, anyway. But Takahashi? Seems he's more or less stuck as "the Katamari Damacy guy." At least for now. Of course, that could soon change, as his next work, Nobi Nobi Boy is underway, and will be at the Tokyo Game Show. The downside is, it will only be there in video form. No playtime for you. Or me. But especially you. Also up Bandai Namco's sleeve for the show is what seems to be a retail version of Mojipittan for Wii, though it remains unknown if that is some sort of port of the WiiWare title, or a new one altogether. If you're curious about what else will be there, check out the full list after the cut. Read More
