Dishonored is a first-person stealth action game from Arkane Studios, the makers of Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and Arx Fatalis. In it, you play as Corvo, a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. Using high-tech gadgets and supernatural abilities, you can creatively eliminate your targets. Whether you play under the cover of darkness or all-out violence, the outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make. Dishonored is set in Dunwall, an industrial whaling city where strange steampunk- inspired technology and otherworldly forces coexist in the shadows. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.
Life is good for you in the city of Dunwall. You’re the personal bodyguard of the empress, she and her daughter are both very fond of you, you’re well respected in the empire, and overall you’re pretty damn good at what you do. With a title like “Dishonored,” you can easily guess that you'll be stripped of all these things very early on. As Corvo Attano, you seek revenge against all those who wronged you and stop all the conspiracies rising in Dunwall. As far as that plot goes, it sounds pretty generic at first.
