Wii List for 2009 Released, Punch-Out!! Dated

Own a Wii and curious when some of the games you are looking forward to will be coming out this year? Well you've come to the right place. Nintendo has released its full list of games for 2009, and a little bit of info about the game that most people are excited for, Punch-Out!! Wii. Here's the official blurb about the game: "The core game mechanics revolve around the tactics of boxing, detecting and exploiting weaknesses in the opponent's defence. Punch-Out follows the story of Little Mac, an up-and-coming boxer from the Bronx, NY, on his way to becoming the boxing World Champion. The game includes various signature characters and the Wii Motion controls provide an intuitive & unique boxing experience." Press releases can make anything sound boring, don't you think? But that's not why you stopped anyway. Hit the jump for Nintendo's 2009 list. Read More

Nintendo Releases Second-Half Line-Up of Games

In an interesting twist (I guess, maybe they do this all the time, and I never noticed), Nintendo has released their US game line-up for the second half of 2008 and into 2009... to Europe. Some highlights included on the list are Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Call of Duty World at War, Guitar Hero World Tour, Skate It, Mushroom Men, two Star Wars games, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers, Sonic Unleashed, Ghostbusters, and quite a bit more. Better still, Nintendo says that this is an "incomplete" list, meaning more titles could sneak their way into the lineup. Here's hoping more from the Big N themselves. For the full bill of goods (as it stands), both good and bad, click the jump. Read More

Widescreen Nintendo DS Rumored and Shot-Down

Earlier today, word spread from Aeropause that Nintendo Power might've inadvertently revealed a new DS hardware revision. Based off the picture in a Disgaea DS ad, it looked as though the DS would soon be stretching itself long and widescreened, but according to Nintendo, that isn't the case. Responding to Eurogamer, the folks at Nintendo knocked the rumor down a few notches, saying that a widescreen DS is "purely rumor and speculation." However, they didn't comment on the Disgaea ad's authenticity, nor did they shoot down any and all hardware revisions. Frankly, with the DS' sales finally breaking from a sprint into a fleet-footed jog, maybe it's time for another iteration of the DS. E3 would be a nice time for the unveiling ("Our entire presentation will be in widescreen -- DS widescreen!"), so I'm not counting this rumor out until E3 has come and gone. But what do you think? Are you ready for the DS Wide? Read More
