Update: Dry your eyes LBP lovers! PS3Fanboy confirmed earlier this morning that Little Big Planet will not incorporate any region-specific coding. "The confusion arose out of regional differences in how moderation will work as there are different legal rules each region have to play by, and at one point this looked like it may require the game to be independent in each region." Thankfully, this was unnecessary in the end. So you can stop fretting now; your level creations will be playable worldwide and, perhaps more importantly, we're going to have a huge selection of content from all different cultures to play with soon after launch. Original Story: Bad news for all of the Little Big Planet fans that were looking forward to downloading phallus-filled levels from around the world. In a presentation with Sony's Pete Smith this afternoon, CVG has reported that user created levels will only be available to other users in that same region. Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of having the word planet in the title? During a presentation of the game at the Leipzig Games Convention today Sony's Pete Smith, who oversees operations at LBP developer Media Molecule, revealed that levels published on PSN by players will only be downloadable by people in the same region. So we'll not be able to download levels created by Japanese and US gamers. -- CVG What I'm a little confused about is how the online level editor will work if you're playing with a friend that's located overseas? Do I have to make new friends in my immediate vicinity to enjoy this game? Blasphemy!
