Game Review

Confrontation is a strange game. This is a game that truly poses a conundrum. What's so weird is that I actually had fun playing Confrontation at times, but its flaws were so evident and so glaring that, despite my mild enjoyment, I simply cannot bring myself to praise this game all that much. But because of said enjoyment, I can't bash it entirely either. In case you're... Read Review

Four Barrels of Fun with Bulletstorm

There sure are a lot of first-person shooters on the market at the moment. But there's little denying that there's a visceral thrill to blowing things away from a realistic perspective. Otherwise why would the genre remain popular? Epic's Bulletstorm has always looked like a game that celebrates that kind of thrill ride, ever since it was first revealed. Now, there's a chance to see what the game's all about in more detail thanks to this walkthrough video from Tanya Jessen, producer of the game. Find out more after the break. Read More

Rumor: Gears of War 3 Arriving in April 2011

Edge Online claims that a trusted US publishing source has informed them that Gears of War 3 will be arriving in early April, 2011 and that the first teaser trailer for the game is expected to debut tomorrow. Bad Company 2 Map Pack Looks to Take on Modern Warfare 2

Modern Warfare 2's developer, Infinity Ward, recently promised their billion-dollar market downloadable content on March 30th. Yesterday, DICE countered, fueling the fire between the rival titles, announcing that Bad Company 2's DLC will launch on the same day. Is this direct confrontation smart for DICE, especially with the whole "free for VIP members" deal they have going? As a complimentary unlock to everyone who bought the game new-fangled off the shelves, the "VIP" map pack will permit players to duke it out through two new modes on Arica Harbor and Laguna Presa. Even though both games are praised for their individual multiplayer game modes, can Bad Company 2's DLC take on the superpower that is Modern Warfare 2? Read More

Medal of Honor to Keep Lean

Electronic Arts said today that many control aspects of previous Medal of Honor games will remain in the modern day sequel. Some of those may present a stark contrast from the rest of today's first person shooters. "Peek and lean is something that has always been in Medal of Honor, and we'll keep that," the executive producer of the new game told IncGamers. Although the ability to laterally move the player character's upper body seems small, Medal of Honor is almost the only console first person shooter franchise that still has it. Read More

M.A.G.: Where All the Reviews At?

With Sony's Massive Action Game (M.A.G.) set to go on sale tomorrow, you might have noticed that wherever you look, there really isn't anything in the way of reviews for the game. Normally, this would appear to be a lack of faith in the product on the publisher's part, as they try to cart the game off to retail and sell as much of it as possible before reviews bring things to a screeching halt. One commenter on the PlayStation.Blog even says as much, drawing a comparison to another similarly-styled game, SOCOM Confrontation, which they refer to as "epic fail." But Sony's Social Media Manager, Jeff Rubenstein, disagrees. Read More
