Far Cry 3 Development Well Underway

The original Far Cry was nothing short of polarizing; gamers either loved it or hated it, with few standing on middle ground. Personally, I thought it was garbage, but its sequel went a long way to alleviating my frustrations with the first. Yes, despite its many faults, Far Cry 2 is an amazing game, due mostly to its setting. It allows player total freedom within a few square miles of an African jungle and village, and in Far Cry 2, for once in gaming, freedom means freedom. It's the rare open world game that doesn't hold players' hands, while at the same time depicting an extremely realistic, living, breathing world, with believable characters and situations, and real consequences for players' actions. Hopefully Far Cry 3, development on which is apparently "in full swing," according to the most recent issue of PC Gamer, will continue the series' trend of improvement and evolution.
