Hudson Entertainment closes in face of Konami buy

Well, this is a shame all around. Last month Konami announced a buy out of Hudson Soft. This is an all encompassing, including the US branch of the company Hudson Entertainment. As far as games go, there really isn't any known figure of game titles that are now canceled, although Hudson has confirmed that any titles Hudson Entertainment was working on are now canceled. Bonk's return to prominence and glory (one would hope) in Bonk: Brink of Extinction has been detailed more thoroughly in the November issue of Nintendo Power magazine (via NeoGAF). The game, which will be available for WiiWare, Xbox LIVE Arcade, and the PlayStation Network, sounds like it will have a pretty good amount of ground to cover as downloads go, with 30 stages laid out across three worlds. This will be expanded further thanks to downloadable content, allowing for a second adventure mode and two multiplayer modes. Read More

Media: Bonk: Brink of Extinction - Debut Teaser Trailer

Word got out early that, among other things, Hudson was bringing back everyone's favorite hard-headed caveboy back to WiiWare (with his past adventures available now on Virtual Console), Xbox LIVE Arcade, and the PlayStation Network. Check it out: Video Games | Bonk: Brink of Extinction | Debut Teaser TrailerXBox 360 | Playstation 3 | Nintendo Wii They make the game look like it's over before it even begins. I wonder if this is what the end looked like for all the TurboGrafx16 characters back in the day? I wish we'd at least gotten some gameplay. Oh well. On another note: does anyone else think Bonk looks sort of like Krillin from Dragon Ball? Read More
