The Capcom Store Goes Live on the PlayStation Network This Thursday

As announced about two weeks ago, Capcom is getting their very own storefront on the PlayStation Network, and it's set to go live this Thursday:This Thursday, we are releasing a custom category for Capcom. As you may know, Capcom has been a huge supporter of PlayStation Network, so we collaborated on a special storefront to coincide with the release of Age of Booty. Within this "Capcom Store", you'll be able to browse through all Capcom digital content available from PlayStation Network. Once inside the Capcom category, you will notice that all their content is sorted by title. This allows you easy access to view all content related to a particular game. This includes all full game content, demo and promotional items (themes, wallpapers, etc). -- PlayStation.BlogFrom this image, it looks like they've got some goodies coming for unreleased fare, such as Street Fighter IV, Bionic Commando, Resident Evil 5, and Street Fighter Alpha. Capcom's Age of Booty Coming in Mid-October

Booty. I love it, you love it, everyone loves some good booty. Capcom realizes this and earlier today decided to announce that Age of Booty will be coming to XBLA and PSN in the middle of October. October 15 sees the release of the XBLA version, while the PSN version will go up for download the very next day. The price is $10 (800 Microsoft points), which pretty much verifies that Capcom is pretty satisfied with how their games sell at the price point. Also of note is that the game will have an online multiplayer component within the trial so you can try Age of Booty the way it was meant to be played - with tons of other dudes looking for booty. Age of Booty, rated E for (the pirate in) Everyone, will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation®Network on October 15th and 16th respectively. The PC version will be available shortly after its console kin to digitally download across sites such as Direct2Drive, Digital River, Metaboli, Impulse, and Steam to name a few. Trials for XBL (with Xbox LIVE multiplayer functionality in the trial!) and for PSN will be available the same day as the full versions. A PC demo is in the works and we expect it ready the same day as the PC version as well. -- Capcom Unity Pirate games don't really appeal to me for some reason. I'm cool with zombies, ninjas, and other outworldly creatures - but when it comes to pirates I just don't get it. Maybe Age of Booty will change my outlook on this whole other culture that still exists out there in the world. Probably not though. Read More

New Okami Covers are Finally Shipping

Ah, poor Capcom. Ever since they released Okami for the Wii, it's just been one spot of trouble after another for them. And all thanks to those pesky ninjas. For those who've forgotten, the box art for the game had one tiny slip-up: An IGN watermark. Upon discovering this, they leapt into action with an offer to replace the sullied masterpieces with a variety of new covers, all at their own expense. And then... nothing. Until now. Find out the full scoop after the cut. Read More

Street Fighter Alpha and Bionic Commando Rearmed Swing onto PSN Today

As reported earlier this week, the original PS1 version of Street Fighter Alpha is on the PlayStation Network for $5.99, alongside Bionic Commando Rearmed, which asks $9.99. In the latter, Producer Ben Judd has revealed that there is one item of exclusive content for the PSN version in the form of a new Challenge Room: ...although I think it's important to deliver the same experience to everyone, that doesn't mean you can't add in a few little things here and there to keep it interesting. So, one of the surprises is that the PSN version of Bionic Commando has an exclusive challenge room that you can only play on the PSN version of the game. It may not be the biggest of surprises, but we have tried to give a little something to the PSN users that they can keep to themselves. And with how hard this challenge stage is, it will certainly make for bragging rights! -- Capcom's John Diamonon has also added some new information regarding the character of Generalissimo Killt, another medal, and one of the obtainable weapons, after the cut. More Capcom Wii Ports on the Way?

New Capcom*Unity user John has made a tremendous splash across the interwebs with his first post on the company's forums, wherein he laments the "shaft" Wii owners are getting from the house of Mega Man and Street Fighter: Capcom, I'm really pissed right now. I want to play these games, but you give us Wii owners the shaft. No RE5 Wii, possibly no Dead Rising 2, no Lost Planet, no Flock, no Age of Booty, No Street Fighter 4, no Devil May Cry, no Dark Void. Instead we get Ports/Spin-offs, a potty mouth game (Spyborgs), We Love Golf (Bad swing mechanics), Neopets (Do I need to say anymore about that one), and Zack and Wiki(I'm in no way bad mouthing this game, it's great). -- John In addition, he despairs over the absence of Bionic Commando in any form (understandable), and questions Moto GP's state as well, before receiving an answer from on high, which you can see after the cut.
