Four months ago, when the NGP was unveiled, I didn’t spend much time thinking about the way the system would interface with PlayStation 3. That, ho
Bad news for fans of destruction and mayhem, as THQ has announced that Red Faction: Armageddon will miss it's scheduled release in March 2011. The good news is the game isn't slipping far, with a new release date slated for May 2011. While THQ didn't offer a reason behind the short delay, it's likely in the end it will all be chalked up to "polish" and just generally making sure the title is ready to go. Given the franchise's focus on destructible environments plenty of bugs tend to pop up when dealing with collapsing buildings and complex physics so surely a few tweaks had to be made. Don't worry, there's good news after the break!
Tomonobu Itagaki's latest blood-filled spectacular, Devil's Third, wowed audiences at E3, so naturally it must be pretty close to release, right? I mean, THQ wouldn't want to have shown off the game if it was so far hitting shelves? Not quite. While a long wait was already assumed for the anticipated action-shooter, THQ confirmed on a conference call yesterday that the game would be released before the beginning of the company's 2014 fiscal year. In other words, before March 2013. Yes, 2013. As in, nearly 3 years from now.
It's amazing how time flies. The Xbox 360 came out in 2005, and according to conventional lifecycles, it seems like we should be getting ready for a new machine by the end of next year. However, Microsoft hasn't made a single peep about a new machine, and it seems that we may have a while to wait before they do. Everyone's Favorite Analyst, Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan, appeared on a post-E3 edition of GameTrailers' Bonus Round, hosted by the face of GT, Geoff Keighley. They were joined by the former editor of EGM, BitMob's Dan Hsu, and in each segment, they looked back at what each of the Big Three brought to the expo, with Microsoft taking the third and final segment.
